Scott W. Gilmer has broad experience in public service and educational leadership. First appointed Chief of Staff for the Tennessee House of Representatives by Speaker Beth Harwell in 2012, he most recently served as Chief of Staff for Speaker Cameron Sexton. Prior to joining state government, Scott spent nearly a decade working in higher education administration. A native of Perry County, Tennessee, Scott understands the complex problems governments face and has experience in the development and implementation of innovative, efficient, and effective solutions. Gilmer is a graduate of The University of Tennessee at Martin (B.S.) and Vanderbilt University (M.P.P.).
